This week marks the start of Brockville Farmers’ Market season. We have lots of variety for the grand opening. The weather forecast is looking somewhat unfortunate so we will be bringing some comfort food pizza!
Last week, we were so ready for market season that we decided to open a physical farm stand on the property. We have the store stocked with a little selection of everything that we have to offer. We top up the fridge and freezer throughout the day. This ensures there is always something fresh available.
There has been quite a lot of interest so we will keep this running.
The hours of operation are Mon-Wed 9-4 and Thursday and Friday 9-6.
The store is located inside the second set of steel doors on the left hand side of the driveway, just past the duck pond. There are no signs yet but people seem to have been able to find their way!

May also marks the start of our main planting season. Each year we have some extra seedlings. This year, we will have these available at the physical farm store. They will be in their seedling trays at a cost of $1 per plug. It will be on a first come first served basis. We will rotate plants based on our current planting schedule. This ensures that whatever is available will be ready at the right time to plant in your garden.

So far this year the gardens have been doing really well. This has freed us up some time to think of and work on other projects.
The pigs are now in their summer enclosure. This year, Greg left a nice wide walking path around the enclosure. We have been taking a “pig walk” every day through the fields and forest. It is so much fun to see the pigs running and playing. We envision a border garden and some picnic sites in little nooks around the pig walk. We will offer this as an activity during the store opening hours.
In the meantime, if you are here picking up a weekly order or visiting the farm store, you are welcome to take a little hike. It is still a bit of an adventure hike with uneven terrain and some muddy areas so bring some boots and a spirit of adventure! Please text Greg (613-866-6645), he can guide you on where the pathway starts until we have everything officially set up.

We have been hearing from a number of you this week that you are having questions about getting signed up for membership on our new platform. We really appreciate people reaching out. The system works quite differently than what you were used to with Harvie but we like it much better and we hope that you will too.
The awesome folks at Local Line (the new platform hosts) have made some great instructional videos. They show how to sign up and how to shop. You can find these on our main website (harmonyfarms.ca).
If you have any questions about to new system or how to sign up, please reach out to us, we would be happy to help!
