This spring has been a wild ride on the farm. We started off guns a-blazing with our winter green house crops.
Then came time to transition to the garden and mother nature threw us a curve ball. Cold weather every day. The coldest May since the 1960’s. Our little seedlings went into protective mode, putting down roots but not sending up shoots.
This past week, we started to see some warmer temperatures. Our plants are responding with some nice new leaves and even flowers.
With the warmer temps, our tomatoes are moving out of the protection of the nursery and into the greenhouse. This year, we will add tomatillos (salsa verde!), figs, rosemary, lemon grass, turmeric, hot peppers and heirloom sweet potatoes as their heat-loving companion plants.

This week we have also started to see our first blossoms in the garden. For those of you with “Harvester” memberships, it looks like u-pick herbs and flowers will be available soon. We will keep you posted!

While we are waiting for all of the farm fresh bounty to appear, we have a new offering on the store: local, organic, wildcrafted herbal teas from “Wild Canadian Tea”. We love them and hope you will too!
