Summer is here and all of a sudden the gardens have burst to life!
Our herb beds which seemed to be doing nothing at all during our little cold snap are lush and green.
This year we are offering U-Pick flowers and herbs from our permanent raised beds to our members and farm store customers.
This is FREE for “Harvester” members and $20 drop in fee for all other members and store customers.
Here is how it works:
For your first visit, please come on a Friday afternoon between 4-6 so that we will be handy and can show you around (or for this week only, on Tuesday July 1st 10-2).
You can mix and match flowers and herbs to make your favourite gourmet bouquet, as much as you can fit in a mason jar.
Payment is cash or e-transfer (instructions are on the white board in the farm store).
Right now, we have offerings in our permanent raised beds. We also have lots of seedlings coming up in our pig walk border garden. Soon you will be able to collect pretty things from the raised beds and the pig walk border garden if you like!
This Tuesday only, we have held off on “weeding” our parsley patch which has become over-run with volunteer heirloom tomato plants. Come and pick some herbs and flowers and take home a free mystery tomato seedling or two:).
Want to enjoy a special treat with your freshly harvested herbs? Try infusing some mint, tulsi, lemon balm or a combination in almost-boiling water for an amazing fresh tisane.
